The boots look great, I am very tempted to buy a pair myself.
On the 'At The Front' website it states that a company called COVE has bought the rights to the Cocoran name, and although the boots may be faithful reproductions they are not in fact Corcoran in the true sense ![]()
Bearing that in mind I think the ones you have represent good value for money, and they look the dogs too ![]()
Thanks

They are the nuts, I've had them on for about an hour and they started off feeling a bit snug but were moulding nicely to my feet by the time they were taken off. I didn't know that about the Cocoran boot, glad I didn't spend the extra
I've got a VN helmet, and like you said the liner pulls out and you tuck the net between, I guessed the WW2 version would be the same.
Looks good, need to get in the mud though!
The easiest way to weather your stuff - don't ever wash it!
I got my stuff from SOF nearly 2 years ago, it used to look like that!
Now -

Annoyingly at my last game I split the trousers arse to crotch. 18" of sewing...........gaaarrr.
The boots are great, i'm on my second pair, my first one of the soles fell off after 2 years of heavy use though. But even my second pair fit like a glove, they are so comfortable! ![]()

Yeah I thought it'd do that, but it seems to be stuck fast
Awesome pic, can't wait to have an excuse to roll about in mine ![]()
very nice getup WhosWill? ![]()
my camo scarf arrived today. its all sloooowly arriving. no sign of either rifle stock or my sniper rifle yet though ![]()

Cheers buddy.
Man, waiting for goodies sucks, hope they get there soon ![]()
Yeah, I definitely gotta go to Beltring to pick up my Tanker Goggles now...
Waiting on a pair of Russian Enlisted Man's Boots (this will be the 4th pair I've ordered, and these are garanteed to be correct...if not...You'll hear about a clock-tower sniper on CNN
.)
I'm also waiting on a Kodak Medalist I & II repair manual.
A Sabaton CD, paint cans....
And I'm thinking about buying a repro German Helmet. Why? Because I can't be a serious re-enactor/Collector without at least one of those hanging off the jeep....maybe with a few bullet holes in it! ![]()

Looks excellent, WhosWill.
Poacher and Kermit told me that I could attach my Y-straps to the MP40 mag pouches at the front, rather than the belt. After a bit of adjustment, I'd like to say it feels good! ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
The war time US helmets do come apart, a Liner and a Shell. Knowing SoF it will be a post war shell dressed up to look like a M1c. Nothing wrong with that [unless you paid original price for it, wartime liners have a grommet in the front as a rule] but it should still come apart.
Wait till the 82nd helmet nuts start on which net for which regement!!!
You will be spared that in airsoft.

I've given it a tug and looked around but can't find a way to get it apart. I have however managed to pull the drawstring tight and arrange it underneath the harness in between it and the shell inside the helmet so the net's secure. If someone more knowledgable fancies having a look at CR then feel free, but I'm scared of pulling the liner too hard and breaking the bugger :lol
Edited to add: Obviously a hefty tug wasn't what it needed, I've just sat and gently moved it around for about half an hour and it popped out. Sorted. ![]()
Bit of a busy week for big brown boxes turning up at my door, luckily, I'm on annual leave this week, so the wife hasn't seen any of it! Here's what's come so far.
Canvas A frame with bag.
Mess tins (dated 1938).
Bakerlite butterdish.
K98 stock + K98 bits.(Will eventually build a K98 springer!).
Oakleaf Zeltbahn.
2 Stick grenades.
Another 4 Mp40 magazines.
Finally, my SS loadout is good to go in plenty of time for CR! It's cost less than I thought but more than I'd hoped. The plus point is that I now know where to source a lot of the kit cheaply, which is helping my Brother enormously with his loadout!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Well gents, i have just taken the leap into wwii.
1 AMG MP40
3 MP40 mags
Total including postage
Glad to see another recruit. First you need to decide which branch you are going for, ie, Heer, Waffen SS, etc. Then just go to the sticky thread "where do I buy German kit from?" and have a browse.

Arrived from Ostfront this morning - 4 zeltbahn poles.
cheers,
already decided on early-mid fallschirmjager impression, like the idea of the plain green jump smock (its also seen regularly in late war snaps). Bought Ospreys German airborne so the impression is there , just need to fund it. hum hum, perhaps i'll sell a well used kidney!
jeks
my M36 tunic and trousers arrived from HK yesterday. now to stitch on the GD insignia and carry on getting the rest of the kit!
Annoyingly at my last game I split the trousers arse to crotch. 18" of sewing...........gaaarrr.
Yur I did that with my SOF Jump trousers too, and recently my M1936 musrtards!! Good job I had my M43s with me at the same time!!!
Best way to get your kit looking worn is to roll around in a sty, take them off then wait for the mud to dry, then beat it with a golf club or something, most of the dried excess mud comes off, but some remains trapped in the fibres, gives you a really grubby look
Works for me anyway!

At first glance in your avatar webby i thought you were wearing some Napoleonic type of jacket!!
